So, the last couple of days have been a little rough. The Twins have dropped the first two games of the playoffs at home. Now the series moves to Oakland for games on Friday and Saturday. A single win puts the A’s over the top.

It’s been tough to watch these games. Take Torii Hunter’s blunder in centerfield today. If he’d made the diving catch, it would have been a guaranteed highlight film moment. Web Gem. Classic Hunter. Perhaps even a game-changer. Instead, Torii fell ass-over-ears as the ball rolled slowly to the centerfield wall. An inside-the-park home run, and tow runs score. Tough stuff.
Today’s sole moment of Twins exhiliration: Michael Cuddyer and Justin Morneau hit back-to-back homers off A’s starter Esteban Loaiza, who’d simply run out of gas. “Could this be it?” I asked myself. “Will this be the pivotal moment Twins fans talk about for years? When the stars aligned?” It wasn’t.
Here’s to Game Three. On TV.
