I know news stories like this one will eventually be co-opted by the NRA as a perfect example of a handgun being used in self-defense. But for now, I’d like to present to you reason #4694 not to commit a violent crime in Brooklyn. Two guys try to rob a pet store — a fancy-schmancy pet store, mind you — and they wind up dead, shot with either their own gun or the owner’s gun.
This story ranks up there with an incident that took place last year on a Brooklyn bus. A bus driver was stabbed by a delusional passenger who’d been arguing with him just moments before. The wounded driver pulled the knife out of his own body, then turned around and stabbed the passenger, killing him. Hardcore.
